(HOWARD, SD) – Horizon Health Foundation has recently welcomed two new board members to the foundation’s board of directors, which is comprised of six leaders representing the Horizon Health Care, Inc. service area. The board members guide the direction of the foundation and oversee operations including financial management and advocacy efforts.

In October 2017, the Horizon Health Foundation kicked off their second Employee Giving Campaign, “Planting the Seed for Healthcare.” Through this campaign, Horizon Health Care employees across the state were challenged to raise $40,000 in 40 days with over 40% of staff participating.

Each year the Student Council chooses a service project. This year they were challenged to do something big. In September, the Student Council, along with their peers, partnered with the Horizon Health Foundation and took on a challenge to raise awareness and dollars for patients with cancer in Miner County.

Howard High School students are joining together this October to raise funds and awareness through their first –ever “Tigers Step Up 2 Cancer” campaign. Throughout the entire month, students will be leading fundraising efforts with the Horizon Health Foundation to benefit Miner County residents undergoing cancer treatment and to help with related expenses.
