Tracy Pardy Selected in Seventh Leadership South Dakota Class

Posted on

(HOWARD, SD) – Tracy Pardy, Executive Director of the Horizon Health Foundation, has been selected in the seventh class of Leadership South Dakota, a statewide program with a mission to engage citizens from across the state.

Leadership South Dakota provides participants with the background, unique experiences and insights necessary to be successful in leadership positions. Pardy will join 40 other class members to participate in the 8-month leadership program, which begins in September.

“We are extremely excited to hear that Tracy was selected to be a part of this year’s Leadership South Dakota class! Tracy is a talented, driven and innovative leader and this opportunity will allow her to expand upon those skills and bring back a wealth of knowledge that will be a benefit to the entire organization. Horizon Health Care and Horizon Health Foundation are proud to support Tracy while helping her grow personally and professionally,” stated Wade Erickson, Chief Financial Officer, Horizon Health Care.

Leadership South Dakota helps homegrown leaders expand their knowledge of the state. Participants learn from extraordinary people who have contributed to the fabric of our state. In the program, the 2021 class will gain leadership and organizational management skills, helping them shape the future of South Dakota.

Pardy was hired by Horizon Health Care in 2016 to build the Horizon Health Foundation, a non-profit, from the ground up. In 4 years, she has worked to assemble a new board of directors, has raised over $1 million to support new programming to include annual and endowed assets, along with growing staff from one full-time member to 3.5 staff members.

Prior to joining Horizon Health Care, Pardy spent nearly six years running a foundation at one of South Dakota’s largest healthcare systems. During her time there, she implemented the first Gala event, which netted nearly $100,000 for cancer care. She started her career in philanthropy as a Prospect Research Officer at Dakota State University. After mastering her craft, she was promoted to run the foundation’s annual fund, then major gifts, before being promoted to run the university’s first $32 million capital campaign.

Pardy serves as the incoming President for the South Dakota Chapter for the Association of Fundraising Professionals, a professional fundraising board which she has been on for the past 11 years. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management from Ashford University in Clinton, IA.
