Horizon Health Foundation Welcomes New Board Member

Posted on

(HOWARD, SD) – Horizon Health Foundation has recently welcomed Jessica Lindskov of Isabel, SD, to the Foundation’s board of directors, which is comprised of nine leaders representing the Horizon Health Care service area. The board members guide the direction of the Foundation and oversee operations including financial management and advocacy efforts.

Jessica is a graduate of United Tribes Technical College in Bismarck, ND and holds a degree in Criminal Justice. For the past eight years, Jessica has been the CEO of her household. She also helps at the Firesteel Creek Lodge, which her husband (Mark) and in-laws (Les and Marcia Lindskov) own and operate.

For the past two years, Jessica has also served on the Horizon Health Care Board of Directors and will act as a liaison between the two separate boards. Residing in one of Horizon’s most rural communities, Jessica is passionate about supporting Horizon Health Care and Horizon Health Foundation’s mission. “Our small clinics matter and are a big part of our towns,” said Jessica. “If it weren’t for Horizon clinics, my family would have to travel miles for doctoring."

Jessica resides in Isabel with her husband, Mark, and children, Benjamin and Chanley.

Other current Horizon Health Foundation board members include: Jodi Jung (De Smet, SD); Pam Locken (Isabel, SD); Kris Stocklin-Johnson (Faith, SD); Jim Burg (Wessington Springs, SD); Gary McKellips (Alcester, SD); Doug Eidahl (Roslyn, SD); Chrysti Protsch (Howard, SD); and John Mengenhausen (Howard, SD).

The Horizon Health Foundation was established in 2016 to ensure rural health care access to those in need and provide funding for Horizon Health Care. Horizon Health Foundation, a tax-exempt, non-profit corporation, seeks through responsible activities to encourage and derive sustaining gift support from current and former patients and interested friends, including corporate entities. The Horizon Health Foundation, operating in coordination with Horizon Health Care, is the duly designated fundraising arm for Horizon Health Care.  In the broadest sense, the purpose of the Foundation is to create an awareness of the financial needs of Horizon Health Care, which are not provided by patient charges and to systematically implement plans by which dollar needs can be met.
