(Howard, SD) – Horizon Health Care and the Horizon Health Foundation are pleased to welcome Anna Wiederrich to a new position as Development Officer for the Foundation. She was previously an intern with the Foundation.
Anna most recently worked as Administrative and Project Specialist at Maximizing Excellence, LLC, in Sioux Falls. This allowed her to discover her relationship-building skills and ways to tell the story of the communities and staff she will work with. Through various volunteer and internship experiences at organizations and non-profits, she gained experience in project coordination, event planning and facilitation.
She grew up on a farm near Winfred, SD. She has a strong connection to rural communities and understands how the small towns of South Dakota can be transformative in the lives of others.
In 2022, she graduated from South Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science in Leadership and Management of Nonprofit Organizations.
The Foundation Development Officer works to establish a robust and engaged donor pipeline to diversify and grow long-term fundraising efforts. Anna will manage annual fund operations to raise dollars to remove barriers to care for Horizon patients such as transportation, food insecurity, cancer care, and medical, dental, and behavioral health care. She will also work to raise funding for equipment needs.
“By nature, I derive much joy from having conversations that evoke change,” Wiederrich said. “Being part of an organization that has touched lives through its care makes me excited to see how this position will enable me with the tools to discover what motivates South Dakota residents and how, together, we can use that to transform rural health care.
In her spare time, Anna is a coffee enthusiast who likes to spend time with her husband, family, and friends. She enjoys going for walks and bike rides, cooking and baking, and flower arranging. She and her husband, Regen, live in Sioux Falls.
