Tracy Pardy is the Chief Philanthropy Officer for Horizon Health Foundation, a non-profit incorporated in 2016 by Horizon Health Care. The foundation’s mission is to inspire and empower our patients with funding for accessible and affordable healthcare now and into the future. The foundation helps support the programming, equipment, and capital needs for Horizon’s 32 medical, dental, and behavioral health clinics which span 22 rural/frontier and urban communities with a nearly 28,000 square mile footprint across South Dakota.
Pardy was hired to build the foundation from the ground up. In four years, a new board of directors has been put in place, nearly $2 million has been raised to support new programming to include annual and endowed assets, along with growing staff from one full-time member to 3 full-time staff members.
Pardy has dedicated 20 years in the philanthropy field as a professional fundraiser. She started her career in philanthropy as a Prospect Research Officer at Dakota State University, before going on to run the foundation’s annual fund, then major gifts; eventually being promoted to run the university’s first $32 million capital campaign. Following DSU, Pardy spent nearly five years as the Foundation Director for Avera Queen of Peace before joining Horizon.
The most rewarding part of her career is meeting people that want to partner to change lives through philanthropy and forming new friendships.
Pardy serves as the President for the Association of Fundraising Professionals South Dakota Chapter, a professional fundraising board she has been involved with for the past 12 years in the following capacities: President-Elect, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, Chair of the Programming/Education Committee, Chair of the Mid-America Conference (five-state fundraising conference), and Programming/Education committee member.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Management from Ashford University in Clinton, IA and has numerous fundraising certificates and conferences under her belt.
The South Dakota Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals is a membership organization that serves as the standard bearer for professional fundraising. Through training, professional development, and networking opportunities, the organization strives to raise the level of expertise for fundraisers representing nonprofit entities of all sizes.
