(ABERDEEN, SD) – Horizon Health Foundation recently received a $3,700 donation from Aberdeen Area Community Foundation to support the Aberdeen Community Health Center. The donation will fund a geriatric chair for IV infusions so patients can recline and relax while receiving fluids.
“The new lab chair will benefit multiple patients that feel uncomfortable in the older, smaller lab chair,” said Cassandra Aesoph, CNP, and provider at Aberdeen Community Health Center. “Our current one boxes patients in a small space and can trigger feelings of physical discomfort or other issues such as claustrophobia.”
Due to Horizon Health Care’s large footprint across South Dakota, Horizon simply does not have a budget to provide new equipment for all clinics. Often many items get red-lined unless the Horizon Health Foundation can fundraise to help with patient care in the clinic areas.
“We are more than grateful for the donation because we really focus on facilitating a good experience at Aberdeen Community Health Center and want to improve patient comfort level,” said Aesoph.
Thanks to Aberdeen Area Community Foundation’s gift and partnership, Horizon Health Care’s Aberdeen clinic can receive better equipment to continue to provide high-quality care to all its patients.
“The Aberdeen Area Community Foundation was pleased to be able to support Horizon with a grant,” said Heath Johnson, Aberdeen Area Community Foundation board chair. “They provide vital health care service for many people in the Aberdeen area, and we’re proud to support their work.”
