The Horizon Health Foundation is partnering with farmers and grain elevators across South Dakota to help patients in need. Participating elevators will be listed here.
Farmers are the backbone of our society. They have a commitment to good stewardship of the land they use to grow crops to feed their family and ours.
Upon delivering grain to the elevator, farmers can designate a portion of the load to the Horizon Health Foundation. The Foundation then sells the grain and deposits the proceeds in a specialized fund that will help bridge gaps in food security, transportation, cancer screenings, and mental, dental and behavioral health care.
Donating the grain instead of making a cash donation after selling the proceeds, can provide a more significant tax savings for the ag producer. There is no risk to the producer after the grain is donated. The Foundation will assume all risk upon investment of the product.
